Fremantle’s sales for Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned, Whale with Steve Backshall and House of Kardashian

Global producer and distributor Fremantle has announced a host of international deals from its ambitious and diverse non-scripted slate, including Coco Chanel: UnbuttonedHouse of Kardashianand Whale with Steve Backshall. The combined sales will roll out across 68 territories.

Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned from WhyNow Studios recently launched on BBC Two in the UK and is the truly radical story of Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel – the woman who turned fashion on its head. The stylish and subversive documentary is set to launch on Movistar Plus+ (Spain), DokuTV (Former Yugoslavia and Albania), BBC (MENA), RTP (Portugal), NOVA (Greece), CANAL+ (Poland), and Now TV (Hong Kong, Macau).

Explosive three-part docuseries House of Kardashian from 72 Films, a Fremantle Company, explores the rise, reach and cost that comes with being some of the most famous women on the planet. Following a successful UK launch on Sky Documentaries, House of Kardashian is headed for FOXTEL (Australia) and GAIN (Turkey).

Boasting contributions from pioneering scientists and conservationists as well as first-hand encounters with whales, dolphins, and porpoises, Whale with Steve Backshall will travel overseas after its premiere on Sky Nature (UK) later in the year. The blue-chip natural history series will launch on BBC (MENA), DokuTV (Former Yugoslavia and Albania), CANAL+ (Poland), TVI (Portugal), and Movistar Plus+ (Spain).

Fremantle is handling the global distribution for Coco Chanel: Unbuttoned and Whale with Steve Backshall. Fremantle have the global rights for House of Kardashian outside of the U.S.

Fremantle is behind acclaimed docuseries Shadow of Truth (Silvio Productions, a Fremantle company), Danielle Laidley: Two Tribes (JAM TV, Stan, Fremantle), alongside premium feature documentaries On The Line: The Richard Williams Story (Open Stance) and Kim’s Video (Fremantle, Carnivalesque Films) which had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January.
