HATTAL 2016 – 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of multiple PA group winner Hattal, whilst being prepared for Abu Dhabi’s most valuable contest, the sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan jewel crown.

At four, in his first season to race , he won both the French and UK Arabian Derby’s, concluding with a two length win in the French Arabian Breeders Challenge classic – HH sheikh Zayed bin Sultan at Nahyan Cup in Toulouse. Unbeaten at five years, he won the Prix de Carthage (Gr2PA) on his reappearance before winning the first of his two president of the UAE Cup – Coupe d’Europe des Chevaux Arabes at Paris , He followed the same path at six, taking his total of group 1PA wins to live, along with his two group 2PA successes.

Hattal’s sire Mahabb has already produced three kahayla classic winners. most recently Deryan 2021, along with Manark 2015, and Rabbah De Carrere 2014, who is now making his mark as sire with his group 1PA winning daughter, Elaf, Their dam Mizzna needs no introduction. By Akbar, out of the three- time kahayla classic winner Alanudd, Mizzna also won Dubai’s premier race for Arabians in 2008, along with five other group 1 PAraces in the UK and UAE.

In addition to his top – class race record, Hattal was an exemplary example of HH Sheikh Mansoor’s breeding programme and will be a huge loss to the stud book.
