Gluck AJR and Clapton AJR, sons of Mared Al Sahra, win in Cidade Jardim

Trainer Oberdan S. Pereira and Almir José Ribeiro won first places with sensational victories by Gluck AJR and Clapton AJR at the UAE President Cup Series Awards for Fillies III and for Colts II on Saturday, April 23, at the Cidade Jardim Hippodrome, Jockey Club de Sao Paulo.

Gluck AJR (Mared Al Sahra x Genna AJR by Voltaire Rach) secured victory in the UAE President Cup Series for Fillies III Award, disputed in 1,000m on turf, for 3-year-old and older and with up to two wins, fifth race of the UAE President Cup South America Mondial Brazil 2022.

Mared Al Sahra’s four-year-old filly, well-handled by apprentice jockey Wellington Ariel, Gluck AJR took the lead after the start and holds it until the end to claim victory in her first race eight lengths ahead of Odessa Rach. (Feitizzo Rach x Obsession Rach by Voltaire Rach) with jockey Ruan Mendonça. Flicka AJR (Feitizzo Rach x Fascinacion by *Adventure Aladin), ridden by Idevaldo Silva finishes in third place.

It is worth mentioning that the three mares are trained by Oberdan S. Pereira and Gluck AJR as well as Flicka AJR are owned and bred by Almir José Ribeiro, racing director of the Brazilian Arabian Horse Breeders Association.

Clapton AJR flies by a new record

In the UAE President Cup Series for Colts II Awards, Saturday’s second race, Clapton AJR, 4-year-old foal and son of Mared Al Sahra, flies for victory and a new record in 1,000m turf races.

Led by Emerson Garcia, the experienced Heron HVP (10 years old, *FA El Shawan x *Hushahby Bey by Bey Shah) takes the lead at the start, but in the 800m he is overtaken from the outside by Clapton AJR (Mared Al Sahra x *Cowboys Gal by Wiking), under the mount of Idevaldo Silva, who keeps the first place and wins the race with nine lengths of advantage.

Another achievement for trainer Oberdan S. Pereira and breeder and owner Almir José Ribeiro, who have won three in the three races in which Clapton AJR participated. A stallion that promises many surprises and that can represent Brazil in international races.

Pereira said: “These victories are the result of a work that comes from the breeding of the two animals. Both Gluck AJR and Clapton AJR respond very well in training and confirm themselves as champions.”

Once again, Rach Stud Agropecuária is the breeder with the highest number of animals, in addition to being the largest breeder with the highest number of horses in all races held in Brazil since 2013, and also the biggest incentive to date.

In addition to the prizes during the races, all horses participating in the 2022 Race Calendar also compete in the Race category of the Arabian Cup 2022 promoted by the ABCCA.
