IHG Hotels & Resorts Strengthens Commitment to Lebanon’s Hospitality Sector with New Opening Amid Tourism Resurgence

IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel groups, is reinforcing its position as a key player in Lebanon’s growing hospitality sector, as the country experiences an uptick in business and tourism. As the largest hotel operator in the country, IHG currently operates 5 hotels across 4 brands in Lebanon including: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, voco and Staybridge Suites.
There is a strong sense of optimism with the expected revival of the tourism sector in coming months leading to higheroccupancy rates and an improved Average Daily Rate (ADR), benefiting both the local economy and the broader hospitality sector.
The onset of recovery has already led to an increase in revenue in recent months for IHG hotels in the country such as the iconicInterContinental Phoenicia Beirut, where short-term transient bookings are driving positive momentum. Moreover, the recent opening of voco Beirut Central District has strengthened IHG’s portfolio in the country with a premium offering and marks a key milestone in Lebanon’s tourism and hospitality sector.
On his visit to Lebanon, Haitham Mattar, IHG’s Managing Director across India, Middle East & Africa, said “Having opened our first hotel in the Middle East – InterContinental Phoenicia in Lebanon in 1961, the country holds a special place in our hearts. With the gradual return of flight to normal operations, IHG hotels in Lebanon have started receiving enquiries and bookings for Q2 and Q3 2025 across MICE and leisure categories from markets such as the UAE, Kuwait and Qatar.
