In Mediterranean culture, the table is a symbol of meeting, exchange, and conviviality and must therefore be able to adapt to different needs.
In response to The Circle of Harmony – Live the Transition created by Natuzzi Italia, Marco Piva presents in his collaboration with the brand, Aliante table.
Aliante, responding to the concept of multifunctionality, is thus designed to celebrate sharing, in the smaller and more familial dimension, as well as on bigger occasions with friends.
The mechanism that allows the top to be extended is a detail that is not only functional but also aesthetic. As well as giving the design a modern and sophisticated look, it once again underlines the brand’s attention to innovation and the needs of modern living. Its ability to extend allows the table to transform the shape of the top, in an ever-changing architectural game.
The harmonious contrast between the solid wood base and the smoked glass or ceramic top emphasises the contemporary vibe of the project, in which even the choice of materials becomes a tool for expressing one’s taste in the domestic spaces.
‘I created the term “Mediterranean Rationalism” for this project’, says Marco Piva. ‘I thought about the ability of objects to be multifunctional, but also to have their own personality, thanks to a very strong aesthetic element within them, which translates into a lifestyle element. The table is also a place of sociability par excellence, especially in Mediterranean culture, where tables are synonymous with inclusion, hospitality and sharing’.
The Circle of Harmony created by Natuzzi Italia seeks a balance in living in the domestic spaces by adapting them to different functions, facilitating the creation of a “new normal” expressed in the motto Live the Transition.
