In a region shaped by both the realities of climate change and sustainable innovation, The Climate Tribe champions the power of creativity, community, and collaboration. The Climate Tribe is a social enterprise originally launched by Her Highness Sheikha Shamma Al Nahyan as a visionary approach to climate action at Climate Week NYC 2023. Drawing from her upbringing and the environmental legacy of her late great-grandfather, His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, her vision was to create a movement rooted in cultural identity and community. The Climate Tribe reflects her belief that individual actions inspire global change and that creativity serves as a catalyst for transformation
The movement was sparked by a simple yet profound vision to inspire local action through education and spotlighting global changemakers. One year on, The Climate Tribe celebrates each win, every tree planted, every piece of waste recycled, and a growing network of engaged minds, as it makes meaningful steps toward a greener future for the UAE

Initiatives That Spark Collective Action
Beyond raising awareness through its digital archive, The Climate Tribe encourages people to engage firsthand with a range of events and workshops that promote sustainable practices, ecological heritage, and the preservation of the UAE’s natural landscapes. More than just a platform, it is a movement powered by contributors, supporters, volunteers, and creators, engaging over 2,200 community members through meaningful, hands-on action. In 2025 alone, the organisation has already delivered 10 community activations, setting the tone for another impactful year
To mark Earth Hour on March 22nd, families, experts, and enthusiasts gathered at Al Sadeem Astronomy for an evening of stargazing and reflection on light pollution. Earth Day was followed by a sustainable farming experience at Mazaraa Farm, complete with vegetable harvesting and low-waste cooking. Other key initiatives included guided hikes in Ras Al Khaimah focused on local ecology, as well as beekeeping and nature photography sessions
Alongside educational experiences, The Climate Tribe has led a series of hands-on initiatives focused on restoring vital ecosystems and reducing waste across the UAE. Initiatives such as the Al Bahia Beach Cleanup Drive and Al Selmiyyah Beach cleaning campaign, which saw participation of more than 160 volunteers, have contributed to the collection and recycling of 8,656 kilograms of waste to date. Additionally, the community has already planted 200 mangrove saplings in 2025, protecting biodiversity and reducing the effects of coastal erosion
