في ظل انتشار فيروس كورونا، يعقد القائمون على معرض اكسبو 2020 الذي تستضيفه دبي في وقت لاحق من هذا العام، محادثات لبحث ظروف انعقاده، وسط عملية تأجيل طالت مؤتمرات عالمية وهامة.
وقال متحدث باسم اكسبو 2020 في دبي لوكالة فرانس برس “نقوم بمراجعة الخطط والتحضيرات بانتظام بما يتماشى مع التوجيهات من الإمارات والجهات المعنية الدولية”.
وذكر المتحدث أن اللجنة التوجيهية للحدث ستجتمع اليوم الإثنين. وتتألف اللجنة من منظمي اكسبو مع الدول المشاركة بالإضافة إلى المكتب الدولي للمعارض ومقره باريس وهو الذي يشرف على الحدث.
وبحسب المتحدث فإن “أي قرار حول اكسبو يجب أن يكون تعاونياً يتم اتخاذه مع المشاركين والمكتب الدولي للمعارض بالإضافة إلى جهات معنية أخرى”.
وأكد: “ما زلنا ملتزمين باستضافة معرض اكسبو عالمي تصورناه جميعا، ولعرض أفضل الأمثلة عن التعاون والابتكار من جميع أنحاء العالم”.
