Winning animals battle it out at UAE President Cup South America Mondial races
This Saturday, June 24, the UAE President Cup Series For Fillies I and For Colts I Awards will be held, the fourth and fifth races of the international Arabian horse racing season in Brazil, which are part of the UAE President Cup South America Mondial Brazil.
Two more exciting races will take place at Hipódromo de Cidade Jardim, Jockey Club de São Paulo, in which 11 animals 3-years-old and older will compete in 1,500 meters on turf.
The first race, UAE President Cup Series For Fillies I Award, will feature five of the best fillies from recent seasons including three champions.
With three victories Naizza Rach and with one victory RG Kalifa and Normandia Rach who won the Grand Prix Wathba Stallions Cup for Fillies I on May 13.
NAIZZA RACH (Feitizzo Rach x La Nouba Endurance by *Saad Ibn Syed, 5-year-old), NORMANDIA RACH (*Uzbek Du Lion x Novella Rach by Voltaire Rach, 4-year-old) and VIVINA RACH (Bismarck Rach x Vaneska Rach by Mister Eros HX, 4-year) are bred from Rach Stud Agropecuária Ltda. and is owned by Ricardo Jamil Saliba and Agropecuária Ilha da Chapada. They are trained by Lucas Quintana and will be ridden by Idevaldo Silva, Michael Silva and Jeffecleone Bispo respectively.
Bred and owned by Cláudio R. G. Ribas and trained by Estanislau Petrochinski, RG KALIFA (Cáceres CSM x Caldas CSM by Pavel Rach, 4-year-old) has a win and will be ridden by Ruberlei Viana and RG ERA (RG Karat x RG Kasta by *Sarmata, 3-year-old) will be conducted by Wellinton Ariel.
In the second race, UAE President Cup Series For Colts I Award, we will have six champion animals that together add up to almost 30 victories. For the second time two champion sons of Mared Al Sahra, Clapton AJR and VG Raj Al Mared, will compete against each other and emerge as favorites.
The first to compete in Arabian races and demonstrate that he inherited the full potential of his father’s blood, CLAPTON AJR (Mared Al Sahra x Cowboys Gal by Wiking, five-year-old) won brilliantly five races of the six in which he competed, among them the Grand Prix Paulo Jamil Saliba on May 27.
Clapton AJR, which will be ridden by Idevaldo Silva, is bred and owned by Almir José Ribeiro and his trainer is Oberdan S. Pereira, is one of the great promises of Arabian racing in Brazil and in any other country.
His main opponent is his four-year-old half-brother, VG RAJ AL MARED (Mared Al Sahra x Daughter of Just HVP by *FA El Shawan). Always ridden by Jeane Alves since his debut, when he won by 24 ½ lengths, he has five wins in the six races he has competed in, holding two records in the 1400 meters on turf and 1500 meters on dirt. His last achievement was first placing in the Grand Prix Wathba Stallions Cup for Colts I on May 13.
Bred and owned by José Carlos Vaz Guimarães (Haras Bluegrass), VG Raj Al Mared has Thiago Haidar as its trainer and is part of the new generation of Brazilian Arabian race horses with a promising future and the competence to participate in any major race in the world.
The Rach Stud Agropecuaria Ltda. is the breeder with three animals in the race and Lucas Quintana the trainer; and highlights are seven-year-old MAHATMA RACH (*Sarmata x Magic All Rach by Ulisses Rach) with six wins being two-time champion of the Wathba Stallions Cup for Colts (2021 and 2022). Ricardo Jamil Saliba is the owner and he will be commanded by Jeffecleone Bispo.
With five years old, OBSTINADO RACH (Atentaddo VE x Obsession Rach by Voltaire Rach) has five victories, one of them with Jorge Ricardo, world record holder for victories in races, will have Michael Silva as jockey.
With two victories conquered with Jorge Ricardo, four-year-old HALLMARCK RACH (Bismarck Rach x Havella Rach by Pavel Rach) in this race will be ridden by André Rodrigues Oliveira and is owned by Stud Truc.
Wathba Stallions Cup winner for Colts in May 2022, RG EL BAK (RG Karat x *Endora by Wojslaw, five years old) has four wins under his belt. Created and owned by Cláudio R. G. Ribas and trained by Estanislau Petrochinski, he will be ridden by Ruberlei Viana.
Almir José Ribeiro, racing director for the Arabian Horse Breeders Brazilian Association (ABCCA) said: “It’s the great start of our UAE President Cup South America Mondial Brazil season, and it couldn’t be any different. Two races with our best animals in activity in Brazil that simply led our statistics in the last three years.”

“On Saturday we will have two more races that will be hotly contested. There are six horses that together add up to almost 30 victories, with some of them record holders at various distances in Cidade Jardim”, commented breeder José Carlos Vaz Guimarães, Haras Blue Grass.
Once again, Rach Stud Agropecuária is the breeder with the most animals on the track, in addition to being the largest breeder with the most horses in all races held in Brazil since 2013.
In addition to the awards during the races, all horses participating in the 2023 Racing Calendar also compete in the Arabian Cup 2023 Race category promoted by the Arabian Horse Breeders Brazilian Association.
